Buying a puppy from the mall.

Wednesday, April 21, 2010 posted by admin

Folks there really isnt too much to say on this subject, please watch the video.

Hundreds of thousands of dogs suffer in puppy mills in this country. The dogs are prisoners of greed. They are locked in small cages. They freeze in the winter and swelter in the summer. The dogs never get out of their prisons. They are bred over and over again until they die. Those puppies are often sick and/or will develop genetic diseases later in their live. The only way to free them from the misery of these horrid puppy mills is to eliminate the demand for puppies by refusing to buy a puppy in a pet store and boycotting those pet stores that sell puppies. When people stop buying puppies in pet stores, the puppy mills will go out of business and the misery will end.

Furthermore, between 6 and 8 millions of healthy and adoptable cats and dogs (many are only babies) are killed in shelters every year because there aren’t enough homes available for them. By adopting instead of buying a dog or cat you will save a life. Also please remember to always neuter/spay your companion animals.

A $4000.00 Puppy

Friday, March 12, 2010 posted by admin

I recently came across an ad for a puppy on our local newspaper, and what really caught my eye was the price tag of the liter.  The website noted breeding was a hobby of theirs and to keep prices down they offered non papered puppies for a discount price.  Folks I will be the first one to say, breeding this particular breed is not cheap.  My last breedings have have cost over $5,000.oo on just stud service(service and shipping) and caesarian(c-section) operations.  This does not include all the little coasts such as food, shots, xrays and other medical visits.

Why you should avoid puppy importers

The first question you have to ask is what is a “puppy importer”? A puppy broker is someone who, rather than breed dogs themselves, purchases them in bulk lots from over seas puppy mills. There is NO DIFFERENCE between this and purchasing any other kind of puppy mill bred dog, except for the fact that import brokered puppies will have suffered through a twelve or more hour flight to arrive at their warehouse location.
